Lawrence Port  began his professional photographic career in Santiago, Chile where he worked as a photojounalist for the noted anti-Pinochet newspaper, La Epoca.   Some of these images may be seen on the portfolio page.

"Impresiones de Cuba," which was exhibited at Jadite Galleries in January 2000,   documents Port's interactions with a variety of Cubans during a recent journey to the Caribbean island. It aims to aesthetically illustrate some of the simple, everyday activities that are part of life in this culture.

"NYC in B&W, " a distillation of two years of photographing New York City, is currently dislpayed at Coppersmith's, 9th Avenue and 53rd Street in Manhattan.

For the past several years, Port has used photography to raise money for local charities in his hometown of Altoona, PA.
  • The Tom and Joe's series has been sold at Truffles and Treasures, an art auction which raises money for the AIDS Intervention Project.  This set can be viewed and purchased via this site; email or call if you would like to buy these prints and help the fight against AIDS.
  • Leap the Dips, the oldest standing rollercoaster in the United States, is currently undergoing a very costly renovation project.  All proceeds from the sale of this series will be directed to the Leap the Dips Preservation Foundation.

Port continues to develop photography projects based on multi-cultural subjects. Currently, he is working with web technologies as a Senior Developer. In 2002 he graduated from New York University with a Masters in Computer Science.

He lives in Boca Raton, Florida, with his beautiful wife and daughter
